What do you like to bring for dinner on the trail?

I really like my rice and fish dish. All you need is 1 pack of the Chicken Of The Sea Pink Salmon (I use the 5oz portion) and 1 pack of Knorr Rice Sides Herb & Butter. Place the rice in your pot with the recommended amount of water and bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Once it is at a boil add in the salmon and stir for frequently for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from the heat and place in your cozy for 10 minutes.

Dog food stew... Dehydrated beef stew over instant potatoes.

Thanksgiving dinner. Stove top, dried cranberries, turkey gravy and shelf stable chicken all in the pot together.

I do everything from chili and spaghetti to burrito fillings and American Chop Suey. Most meals I make with ground chicken because it is so lean. I prepare it the way I would to eat normally and then dehydrate it until it is brittle. The burrito filling is dehydrated refried beans and ground chicken seasoned with taco seasoning. Then I add powdered cheese and milk to the bag so when I rehydrate it, it has a cheese flavor too. I also created a cheesy rice meal that I did the same thing to, and use either minute rice, or cooked regular rice that I have dehydrated.

Unstuffed Bell Peppers - I purchased Chef Glenn's book Recipes for Adventures. Dehydrated rice, ground beef, and marinara sauce. Added parmesan cheese. JetBoil about 1 1/4 cup water, stir and let sit for about 10 minutes, then enjoy. 

Best advice I can give for great dehydrated recipes: The Backpack Gourmet. A wonderful book for backpackers wanting to make and dehydrate their own meals. It is still in print and on Amazon. I have been using my book since 2004. I do have to cut down the portion sizes though (how often do you hear that said?).

So far my favorite is pasta with marinara with some pepperoni chunks in it. 

I always crave pizza on the trail, this is one of my favorite, and extremely easy to make, dehydrated backpacking meals: 3/4 cup instant rice, 1T bell pepper, 1T onion, 1t Italian seasoning, 2T Parmesan cheese, 4 ounces of pasta or pizza sauce -- rehydrate with 3/4 cup water. Add pepperoni if you want (I do!) If you don't want to dehydrate the sauce, you can use the prepackaged 4oz pizza sauce packets.
